17 Oct 2023 Emergency Response notifications for mobile customers
Following the recent events in Israel and Gaza and Afghanistan, our mobile partners O2, Vodafone and EE have released the following updates to customers impacted by these events. Please note that mobile connectivity could be affected by damage to local networks in these locations.
O2
From 7th to the 17th of October, O2 will be crediting back charges for calls and texts from the UK to Israel and Palestinian Authority territories for Virgin Media O2 customers. This also includes roaming charges for mobile calls, texts and data used in Israel and Palestinian Authority territories.
There is no need for customers to get in contact, charges will be credited back automatically. The above applies to O2 pay monthly, O2 Pay As You Go, Virgin mobile landline and O2 business mobile and VMB landline customers.
Vodafone
Israel and Occupied Palestinian territories
From 7th to the 17th of October, Vodafone UK customers who use calls, texts, and data roaming in Israel and Occupied Palestinian Territories during this time. All calls and texts from customers in the UK contacting friends and family in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories will also be credited during this time.
Afghanistan earthquake
Vodafone are crediting Vodafone UK customers who use calls, texts, and data in Afghanistan from 7th-17th October. All calls and texts from customers in the UK contacting friends and family in Afghanistan will also be credited during this time.
Credit will be applied automatically. Customers will receive an SMS when their first credit is raised.
EE
EE are providing free calls, texts, and data to EE customers to and from Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories from the 10th to the 17th of October.
